Day 9 of the 30 in 30

Went slightly lighter with this painting and it ended up a little too light! At least for the purpose of scanning them in. Oh well, I'll know for next time. I may go back into it later with more colors! Anyway this is based on a drawing I found in my sketchbook. I did a little more research into this one as opposed to the last, and I like the drawing so much more. It's amazing the difference a few years make.

This paintings is for two challenges: #30paintingsin30days and #kidlitart28  Leslie's site:
This image is 2.5"x3.5" colored with Daniel Smith watercolors, inked with Micron Pens on Arches Watercolor paper.

  1. HI Dani - thought I'd pass on a tip about scanning watercolors. To help minimize the paper texture: in Photoshop go to Image, Levels. Move the right arrow in towards the middle to get rid of the shadows in the white etc. Good luck with your art.

  2. Hi Di,

That's one of the things I tried and it didn't work for this painting. . I think it's because the image is so small. I don't have a whole lot of time to scan these. I have some extra time today so hopefully I'll find a good solution.

    1. Also I don't own photoshop at this point and the alternative isn't as good. Maybe I'll try downloading a 30 day trial for this month's challenge.

  3. I personally like the texture and the lightness. It has a fresh feeling. The bunny is adorable with its ears askew!
